So I finally got around to downloading all my pictures over the last few months and am blogging them. I'm hopefully going to do a couple of blogs a day to catch up. If you want to check them out here is my blog page
Texas Update
Hi!! I haven't blogged in SOO long. Mostly its because I have pictures to post and I am never home with time to blog so I just don't ever blog. Today I am at work and am completely caught up and looking for things to do. I didn't sleep well last night (that's what happens when you stay up past midnight and its too late to take your ambien) so now I'm at my desk trying to stay awake!! Seriously!!
So anyway, I thought what better time to do an update on the two of us here in Texas!! Well, Sean got released from his calling as Elders Quorum Teacher and has just been called as a Weblos scout leader!! Totally unexpected but he is excited. I am still the Camp Director and am looking forward to camp in June (we camp in June because we live in Texas, we also camp in air conditioned cabins...)
We still have a dog and he is really cute!! During the winter months (and by winter I mean it sometimes got below 30 degrees) we have been letting him sleep inside in his kennel. Because its dark outside when we get home, he spends most of the evenings inside with us. We have to keep an eye on him all the time though because he's learned he can reach food on the counter and recently learned how to lift the lid off the garbage. This dog is too smart for his own good!! We have to keep him tethered in the backyard until we get the electric fence up. He has learned that he can jump the chain link fence and his latest trick is that he learned how to open the gate for the chain link fence. Obviously jumping was too much work for him!! Doc has definitely decided he loves Sean more but i have been trying to buy his love by letting him in at night. The other day he grabbed a rag and I tried chasing him and we ended up running around the couch for like 20 minutes. It was so much fun. I've done this with him a couple of times. Well last night I went to the gym with my friend Carlene right when I got home from work so I did not have a chance to see Doc before I was out the door again. When I got back from the gym, Doc was in the house with Sean and as soon as I walked in the door Doc jumped up ran to me and then started running around the couch. So I started chasing him. It was fun and I think my plan to buy his love is working!!
What else....hope you don't mind that this is long, again, trying to stay awake here!! We got the chance to go to the Dr Pepper Museum in Waco a few weeks ago. We basically love Dr Pepper and had a lot of fun with our friends Stacie and Michael who we went with.
Sean is really loving his job!! The people he works with are great and he is so happy in this job. He is still working on his final paper for his masters degree and has promised me that he will be graduated by the end of this semester so YEA!! for him being done. This paper is on his research project he did last year. He is mostly done with it so it shouldn't be too much longer.
Well that's pretty much us right now. The weather is starting to get nice here. That will only last a couple months until the humidity picks up. Sean and I meet for lunch every day and for the last couple of months we've been having lunch in the back seat of my car! I leave work, drive to the school and pick him up and we sit in a parking lot and eat lunch. It seems crazy but we've been meeting for lunch since we were married and its nice to spend that time together. Yesterday it was finally warm enough to eat outside. There is a visitors center parking for a memorial on campus and we keep a blanket in my car and lay that out for lunch. Its so calming and works great in the middle of the work day.
Well, the last thing I want to tell you guys about is my crazy decision to go back to school and get my masters degree in Education. I've been thinking about this for a long time and looking into programs. I found a great online program that is through Ashford University which is in Iowa. Its all online and is amazing. You take one class at a time and each class is 6 weeks long. I am currently in week 4 of my first class. So far so good. Its great because I actually look forward to doing my homework!! Its a year and a half program so my estimated graduation date is June 2011!! Its kinda crazy but I am enjoying it!! The format for the online course is perfect for me. Its a lot of writing which is great for me because that is something that comes naturally to me. I also am able to discuss educational issues with classmates and get different perspectives. Its great!
So that is all for now cause I can't think of anything else interesting in our lives to talk about!! I miss you guys so much!!

Brewer Family Day of Fun
So, since I want to make sure we have a fun Saturday together, I have decided to plan Saturday December 26th. This day shall be known as Brewer Family Day of Fun!!!
I don't have all the details planned out so any input is welcome.
9am Meet ________ for breakfast. (if you would like to donate your home for this breakfast let me know)
Sean will be making his famous hashbrowns (anyone have a grittal we can use) and I will be making pancakes. Eggs may or may not be involved.
After breakfast we will be headed to _tba_____ for a wicked awesome game of broom hockey. This will be a BYOB (bring your own broom)and if you feel the need to decorate or reinforce your broom, there will be prizes for the following catagories:
prettiest broom
strongest broom
Most Creative Broom
....thats just a taste of what categories there will be. (remember broom designing is optional so don't stress if you don't have the time!)
Ok, after broom hockey we will eat lunch....not sure what or where, I'm working on it.
After lunch.....well, I haven't gotten that far either so if anyone has any ideas let me know.
Dinner I think it would be fun to go out to somewhere inexpensive.
So, thats not a whole lot of details but it is a work in progress, if anyone has ideas or requests let me know!
Update
I just did a major catch up of our past two weeks. Here's the link:

The new posts include the BYU game, our Christmas party, and our major headache of pipes freezing, bursting, and flooding our basement :( Not a fun week...
Christmas Gifts
OK, so no one has rejected the idea I had about gifts, and no one has told me of any other ideas, so we are going to go for it.I drew everyones names for everyone, even the kids. So each kid will give to a cousin. I know that none of us are rolling in the dough, so keep it simple. The limit is $3.00 a kid or less. As far as a price range for adults, I think $10 to $15, what ever everyone is comfortable with. Ok, so here are the names.
Ryon has Sean
Jana has Josh
Justin has Celeste
Ali has Jana
Shantelle has Rachelle
Josh has Ali
Rachelle has Ryon
Sean has Nate
Celeste has Shantelle
Nate has Justin
Hannah has Paige
Carson has Brayden
Harry has Brooklyn
Simon has Sadie

There ya go, see you all soon.
Update
Hey everybody! We are getting VERY excited to see everyone next month. I've been thinking of some things to do while everyone is here, so if anyone has any ideas leave a comment so we can plan a fun week.
I have done quite a few blogs this week to get up to date. Here's the link: www.joshandshantelle.blogspot.com
New posts include:
New Trees and Shrubs for our house
Gateway Discovery Museum w/Justin and Ali
Brayden's Birthday
Christmas Gifts
Hey everyone, so the kids in the family need to decide what we are doing for presents this year. I think that since everyone will be in town we should mix it up. We always give to couples, so I think we should give individually this year. I already drew names and stuff, but I don't want to make it official if people have already bought gifts. So let me know what you all think. If I don't hear from anyone I will assume this plan is fine. If is is not ok, call me, 801-209-7510. thanks, ali
Christmas Update
So Sean and I have been going over the dates we are going to be in Utah and trying to work out when we are going to be where and such. Here is what we have so far...
Leaving Texas Tuesday Dec 22 at 5pm Stop in Dublin TX to get Dublin Dr Pepper (honestly if you want a case of Dublin Dr Pepper with pure cane sugar, let me know) and stop in New Mexico for the night. Finish driving Wednesday.
Wednesday Dec 23 arrive in SLC late
Dec 24 - no idea yet :)
Dec 25 - Christmas morning at Mom and Dad's, Cindy's for Christmas brunch, stop by Grandma and Grandpa Brewers and then spend the rest of the day at Mom's and Dads.
Dec 26 - Saturday. If everyone would be able to, i think it would be fun to have a super saturday of Brewer family fun!! I know Mom has inventory but we could have stuff planned for all day so she can join us when she gets done, let me know who is in for this and we can start making plans.
Dec 27 - church with mom and dad. Spend day with family at mom and dad's or whereever...another family day.
Dec 28 - Still in SL, will be meeting up with Sean's Sister and Step-Bro who we won't be able to see in Cedar City.
Dec 29 - travel to Cedar city
Dec 30 - go skiing for our anniversary at Bryan Head(I've never been so this should be interesting)
Dec 31 - in cedar
Jan 1 - family party at Sean's Mom's house
Jan 2-3 travel back to Texas.
So thats what I have so far so let me know your thoughts! The only thing that is really set in stone is Sean's Mom is having her annual extended Christmas party on the 1st.
