Happy to be coming to UTAH!!

Just thought I would give everyone a heads up. Sean and I are coming to Salt Lake in august. We are flying out of Texas at 5am and arriving Saturday Aug 9th at 9am. We will be in town all week. Our flight leaves Salt Lake sunday aug 17th at 5am. (apparently you have to be an early riser to get the cheaper plane tickets.)
We are excited to see everyone and meet baby paige. (and if shantelle decided to go into labor early I wouldn't mind meeting her little bundle of joy either!)

Texas is much hotter without AC

So.... here's the latest house update. We called the plumber and had him come back over monday. He said he wanted to cut out the pipe to see if the clog is worse than what a snaking would do.....it was. The entire "p" pipe was filled with black gunky stuff. He said this is not normal and he thinks that the air conditioner pan might be eroding away. He cleaned out the pipe, reattached it and told us to have the AC guys call him so he can explain what he saw. Atleast now it is not leaking anymore.
Wednesday morning we had a contractor over the estimate repairs (our insurance requires us to have two estimates) the guy said that the countertop in the bathroom will ahve to be replaced because they have to remove it to get the the wall. The sheet rock on both sides of the wall has to be replaced as well as the carpet in our bedroom which has water damage. Overall his estimate was $2500.
Also wednesday we had the AC  guys come. They said that the outside part of the AC is crapping out and needs to be replaced. They said that the whole system is 23years old and we should consider getting it replaced especially because its alittle small for our size of house. They have a really good deal on an entire unit right now, they have some over stock units from 2004 which have never been used. We decieded to think about it. They said to let them know soon because they are booked for the next week and a half so the sooner we get the appointment the sooner they can install.
So.... yes theres a so... thursday morning I get up and am getting ready for work. It is 8am and I go out in the livingroom and its 80 degrees in there!!! (we have a clock that tells the temp). I went and woke sean who called the AC people. They sent someone out to look at it and said that the outside unit is freezing (literally, it had ice on it!!) Which means the outdoor unit is basically shot and the AC doesn't work. When I was home for lunch the house was 82 degrees and when sean was home that afternoon it was aroung 86. The AC  guys gave us an estimate on replacing the whole thing since thats the better option in the long run and they are installing it for us friday.
So thursday after work we decieded to go out to dinner and invite ourselves over the Moores to hang out. It was fun but going home to bed was not. We had our ceiling fan on as well as two floor fans that we put on top of our furniture pointed at the bed. The room was around 78-80 the whole night. (ps. at night, I die if its 75 when I'm trying to go to bed.) It was a long night!!!! Luckily this will only be a one night of misery!!

Happy Forth of July

Oh, beofre I blog, Sean and I have new cell phone numbers
Sean- 979-422-7940     Rachelle- 979-422-7942
So for the Forth, our ward had a morning breakfast at the park with some water games. We had a lot of fn and played 7 holes on the frisbee golf course. (We love frisbee golf!) WHen we got home I went to the bathroom in the main bathroom and discovered a puddle of water seeping out from under the cabinet. I told Sean but we decieded to put a towel down and go lie down because I really wanted to take a nap.
rWHile I took a nap Sean read his book. I had a hard time sleeping because there was this dripping noise I couldn't zone out. We had heard a random dripping noise for a couple of days, but today it was much worse. I convinced sean that maybe we needed to locate the drip.  As you can see from the pictures, we cut one hole and couldn't see it and then found it and had to cut a big hole to expose the pipe. The pipe is the drainage from our air conditioner.
So we called our home insurance claim office and they took down the information and said we should get a plimber out because they couldn't do anyhting til monday. So even though it was the holiday, we called a plumber. He came out and said the pipe most likely had algae biuld up and it needed to be snaked. The plumber was a really big guy and coudln't get to the pipe in the attic so sean had to climb up there and snake the drain. While he was doing so, he slipped and put his foot through the ceiling of our bedroom.
Anyway, he snaked the drain and the plumber left. It started dripping again so we caught the plumber before he was gone and he said that it will probably just drip for a few more minutes and should stop, so he left. Well, it didn't stop dripping. Right now we have it rigged to drip into a large tuperware. We have press and seal seran wrap on it trying to protect the sheet rock as much as possible. Right now we ahve to empty the tuperware wevery two hours. Luckily at night the air conditioner doesn't work as hard so it only has to be emeptyed before we go to bed and our normal wake up time. (We are planning on calling the plumber monday morning and making him come back out because this is ridiculus!!)
We're not sure how bad the damage is because its all behind the vanity in the bathroom. We're going to have to get two contractors to come out and estimate the repairs for the claims to pay out on it. We'll see what happens.

Bathroom Saga!!

So, I think I told some of you about an experience I had at work 6-7 months ago. I as in the bathroom, did my thang, and then went to open the door but it wouldn't open. Basically it wouldn't open!  I was stuck in the bathroom for 60minutes while my boss, a co worker, and maitaance people tried to get me out. The ended up taking off the hinges, and I had to ram the door from the insied like six or seven times until the door popped open. Well, today at work my boss got stuck in the mens bathroom. Our coworker Eric came to the rescue and went straight for the hinges. He got all three pins out and the ramming began. Just one problem though, the door would not pop up. He tried everything, using the hammer to pry it open, hiting the hinges to release.....finally, he got an ax and chopped away the door handle. Mr Liere was trapped for a good 45 minutes. All the pictures are from today taken with  my cell phone.

My New Craft Blog

So I have a new project that is going to be an on going project. Its a craft blog! This was Sean's idea. I love making lots of crafts (i'm pretty sure it is in my blood!) and Sean thought it would be a good idea for me to create a blog about crafts. So I did. The site is called "Creative Compilation".
The idea of the blog is to share something that I love to do. So far I have 3 crafts blogged and many previous projects that I intend to put up eventually. I post pictures of each blog, and then explain how it was made.
Now, this website is a compilation, but I don't want to be just about me. I want to hear about other people's ideas, and learn new things. Each blog will have a created by to start if off. I want other people to share ideas by emailing me the pictures and the description and I will add it with your name as the Created by.
I'd love for you guys to check it out, and if you have any fun and cool craft ideas, please don't hesitate to share them with me so I can share it with others!
(p.s. if this does take off and people really enjoy, I don't want to limit it to just family, so if you have friends that are crafty or want to be crafty, share with them too. And give them my email if they have their own ideas too! )
The website is www.creativecompilation.blogspot.com
I setup an email address for all submissions, please email ideas to creativecompilation@gmail.com
If you have any questions, please let me know.

Nick and Sarahs wedding,....and the journey to get there.

So memorial day weekend is one of the biggest traveling days of the year. Now, most people drive to the lake, or go at most 10 hours. Not me and Sean. This holiday we drove to North Carolina for Nick (Sean's Brother) wedding. We left Thursday night a 6:15pm and drove straight through to Georgia, making mostly bathroom stops, but did stop for breakfast at 3 am at a truck stop. It took us 14.5 hours to reach atlanta Georgia where seans dad and step mom live. It was about 10:30am. At that point, we moved our luggage and hopped in the back our their pathfinder for the remaining 6 hours to NOrth carolina. We got to NC about 4:30pm and had an our to shower and get ready for the rehearsal. Sean was a groomsman and had to attend.
The wedding was really pretty. It was on saturday afternoon.  Sarah, my new sister in law who we all met for the first time at the rehearsal, is only 5'1" and Nick is 6'3" but are very cute together. Kobi and Kya, the neices were the flower girls and looked so cute!! It was a traditional Baptist ceremony/....and the best man also played/sang a song dedicated to the couple. It was really really beautiful and sarah looking Amazing!
We left North Carolina Sunday morning and stayed Sunday night in Georgia. Monday morning we left bright and early, and made it home in 13hours. needless to say......man I was happy to be out of the car!!

First Camping trip in Texas ... 3 weeks ago

So I've been meaning to blog out our camping trip three weeks ago and haven't yet. So.....now I am. Sean and I went with our friends the Moores (who have the cutest dog, Dilly). We went to Lake Somerville which is about 30 minutes from home. We had so much fun. The Moores rented a canoe and we rented a kayak. We left friday as soon as I got off work and stayed through Sunday morning. The Moores provided the tent, a really cool 8 man tent. Now, once you got both couples air mattresses blown up, it was defiantely a 4 man/2 couple tent. (yes we know how to rough it!!)
The hardest part was that it was SOOO hot at night. We had electicity at the sight so we brought our extention cord and two fans with us because the humidity was bad (again, we sure know how to rough it.)
The best part was going out on the lake. The Moores got the canoe so they could take Dilly out. They bought her a life jack that was so cute becuase it had a handle on the top. she HATED the water though. We put her in a couple of times and she swam to the nearest person and tried to get out.
The other best part was the food. For Dinner we made foil dinners. Paul seasoned the meat so yummy!! For breakfast I introduced the Moores to Foil Orange Muffins. Basically, you cut the orange open like a pumpkin and eat iout the orange. Then, fill the orange half full with muffin mix and top it off and wrap in foil, stick in the fire and in about twenty minutes, yummy hint of orange muffins!! We also had hotdogs and smores.
All in all it was a great weekend!!

Count your blessings, and be careful how you spend!!

So Sean and I have an interesting experience to share. Last week, Sean dropped me off at the grocery store while he ran to get papa murphys pizza for dinner. While I was buying Zyrtec (man allergies suck) I had Seans credit card but thought I had the debit card so when I was paying I tried running it was debit with the pin number. It didn't go through so I tredi this three times then realized what I was doing but by that time it wouldnt go through. So I went and found Sean, got the debit and got my medicine. So wellsfargo who we bank with has a really good flagging system so now I knew our credit card was flagged. Well last night Sean was online to transfer money from our checking account to our credit card. (luckily we stopped using our credit card for everything so there are few items listed for the month) Sean noticed a charge on our acount for VOns (a grocery store) in LAS VEGAS!! For $113.00 . We called wells fargo to ask them about our flagged card, explained what I had done, but that there was this charge that wasn't ours. The lady we talked to said that they are showing that on Friday, another charge for Von in Las Vegas was tried to charge for $250!! We immediately stated thats not us and our credit cards have been cancelled with new ones being issued. (they are also taking the 133 charge off and refunding us the money0  Wow were we lucky. We don't know how long it would have taken for us to realize the charges!!!
The only thing we can think of that maybe our card got out was about a month ago, I was searching online and found this cute site where you could buy  gretting cards that were hand made paper made by kids in Africa. I thought I would buy some for mothers day and fathers day. I entered my card and it didn't seem to work. I tried again three days later and it didn't work and I didn't think anything of it. I think I was probably scammed. We're really lucky I had a dumb moment last week or who knows what could have happend!!

Ladder Ball

Sean built the funnest backyard game called ladder ball. Basically the white stands get put accross the yard from each other.  Then you take a string that has two golf balls on either end. You throw it at the stand and if it wraps on the top bar its 3 points, middle is two points and the bottem is one point.  I painted all the golf balls (except the pink/orange one, Joni painted that) and right now we have four sets. (each set is two strands) We have lots of fun playing this with our friends.

Our Yard

So sean and I have spent a lot of time in the back yard these last couple of months. On saturday, I decided to replant my flower bed that was mostly dead. We bought dirt,to take care of the water problem, replanted the flowers and then got really pretty redwood wood chips. These are some of the pictures. I also took a picture of the house. Its pretty. We also took a picture of our cute wandering jew, we named him Mosquiwitz. Here are some of the back yard too. We have 11 bushes along the back fense that will grow to be about  6ft by the end of the year, we're excited. We also have a hammock and a hammock chair. and lastly, we gave up on th humming birds and now have a bird feeder. We love our yard even though there is still so much to be done!!!
