First you were all like "whoa", and we were like "whoa", and you were like "whoa..."

So this is like such a "must live in Texas" moment. Today we found a turtle (and by we, I mean Sean and Becca, I on the other hand was at work!) It was so cool. It was just randomly in our yard! We don't know how it got into the yard, don't know where it came from, and don't know where it went, but I do know I had a really good dinner!

Not the turtle, Sean made barbecue chicken with pilaf rice! It was delicious.

That is all.

Snack In the Dark

1.jpg2.jpg

So....what do you do when the power goes out and you want a snack..and not just any snack, you want chili with frito chips. We had left over chili in the fridge (and on top of that it was Nalley's chili!!)

Side note: so in Texas, they do not sell Nalleys chili anywhere! it is my favorate canned chili but for three years I have not had it at all. I had to find a new brand, Wolf, that is good but not as. Well the other day I was walking in the store and BAM Nalley's chili. They were giant cans only but I couldn't resist!!!

Ok, back to the story!! You may be wondering why the power was out. We don't know, we were just sitting watching American Idol results and it went dark! The power was out for about an hour. So, here I was in a candle lit room and with cold chili. My wonderful husband got an idea. We happen to have a cast iron skillet. He got it out, assembled some candles and glasses and set it up. The lighted picture was actually taken in the dark, Becca's camera happens to have a really bright flash!!

So, we let the chili warm for like twenty minutes and it was perfect!!! YUM!!

We are also thankful to grandma who sent us a wind up light lantern (though we forgot where we put it and it took ten minutes to find and get out of the box.....but it was nice to have. We played cards by lantern light until the power came on. It was great fun!!

Greetings from Texas where its warm...cold.....warm....cold......

So we are mostly enjoying the weather hear but it is quite odd. One day it will be around 65 in the morning and get up to 75 during the day. then the next day it will be 40 in the morning and high of 60 in the day. Each day when I get to work I have to change the heating/cooling unit from heat to cool and then the next day it will be 63 in the office when I get there and have to put the heat on.

P.S. I have two new crafts on my craft blog.

Happy Anniversary

Sean and I had a great anniversary this year!! I was able to take Tuesday and Wednesday off of work and we had Thursday off for New Years. We decided to go to a bed and breakfast here in College Station. It is called "7F Lodge". It seems like an unusual name but it has a really cool story. "7F" is actually a cattle brand that the owner of the bed and breakfast inherited from her father when he pasted away, she was the only child and he asked her to carry on the brand so she built the bed and breakfast on the land her father owned. It is very pretty. The "rooms" are actually individual cabins. There are 6 of them and each has its own theme. They also have a chapel and reception hall that are outdoor for weddings

We stayed in Spain. It was so pretty, we came into the room and there was Spanish music playing. The whole place was decorated with a Spanish flair. My favorite part was the jacuzzi tub. They had the softest robes too! We also loved that there was no phone and no television in the room so we spent more time talking than we probably would have. Overall it was such a romantic place to stay.

It also has such a pretty patio with a fountain. We enjoyed walking the grounds it was so peaceful!!

7F is really big on this being a getaway oasis that you don't check in, don't check out, the bill is already in your room, you just sign one of the copies. For breakfast there was a basket waiting filled with food and also food and juice/milk in the fridge. The next day since we were staying two nights, they dropped off a basket with more breakfast for the next day and more towels.

Carroll Christmas

Sean and I had a great Christmas in Texas. We enjoyed the 70 degree weather and took a nice bike ride to the park on Christmas eve day. Though we missed everyone, we did enjoy having our own little Christmas. We got up around 10am, made cinnamon rolls for breakfast and opened presents. Sean made us a fabulous breakfast for lunch and we spent the rest of the day being together.

Thanks Mom and Dad for the Volcano. We are really excited to try it out. We are hoping next month or in March that it will be warm enough to go to the lake and barbecue!!

Santa clause brought Sean a compound Miter saw. He has already started using it and is enjoying every minutes.

Santa brought me a 20 gallon fish tank! I Was way excited. I used to have a Beta fish back in college but it died in my third year, about 6 months ago I decided to get another one and I still had my one gallon tank. I have totally moved up now with 20 gallons.

as of right now we have three fish. Burtus the Beta, Tangi is a red wag (she looks more orange than red) and Zippy who looks like a zebra and is a spaz (i don't remember what type he is).

For our anniversary Sean got me a castle for the tank. I was so surprised. I saw it at the fish store but knew it was too much for our Christmas budget. I resigned to waiting til my birthday to get. I was so surprised when he got it for us.

Once in a Life time....

Sean and I had the greatest experience yesturday, friday as we were able to go to the A&M winter commencement and hear President Bush speak. It was amazing. I blogged about it on Seans blog because there are alot of pictures and I wanted to mix the pictures with the text. Check it out at http://seanandrachelle.blogspot.com/

We have Snow TOO

So yesturday a cold front blew into town. What we didn't expect was the snow on the ground.....well, part of the ground. None of the snow stuck to the ground, mostly to rooftops, cars and flower beds. The picture above was a tree by our office. It was really cool to see the snow this monring especially because I was so jealous yesturday and wanted snow. One of my friends on facebook was saying how it was snowing in Utah. I changed my facebook profile to say "wishing the rain was snow" and Deanne, a girl I work with was like "is there some kind of snow dance we can do?" (her mom lives in Washington so she also wishes there was snow.)

Too bad most of it has already melted but atleast I got to see snow once this holiday season.

Happy Thanksgiving....yea for Christmas tree!!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! Sean and I drove to Atlanta GA to be with Seans Dad and Step mom, and brothers family from Ohio. It was a lot of fun. The drive was long (13.5 hours) but I had book three of twilight to get me through it and Sean had his book on tape (sansa really) so he was content.

We had a great Thanksgiving day and a fun weekend playing games. The ride home was really long because we hit traffic, well the highway closed down to one lane and our exit was closed so we had to detour. But again, I had book 4 of twilight so it was ok.

This is a picture of our Christmas tree. I love Christmas and decorating for Christmas is so much fun. We have a piano now and it was the perfect place for our Christmas Village. Our new house for the village this year is a craft shop, the box says "Jennifer's craft shop," but I thought Carroll craft shop was more fitting.

Anyway, that's it.

Oh yeah, i did put up a new blog on my craft website. www.creativecompilation.blogspot.com
