Rush Tri

SO as you all know Ryon and I both did the triathlon, so we have no pictures of this event...but I promise I have the shin splints and achy legs to prove it! What a day we woke up bright and early to get our stuff to the transition areas so we would be set and then we were off to the race. The race started with a 1/2 mile swim at Rainbow lake, although this year it was a tad longer than that! The swim was killer I thought I was going to drown more than once...the open water gives you a real scare, its deep and dark and pretty chilly that early. I did the back stroke most of the race so I could look up at the sun rise and not in the murky water below...after the swim you get out of the water and change into your biking clothes as fast as you can and your off to ride the rolling hills of the dry farms what a beautiful ride we ride right past the temple, and the wheat is golden this time of year, and the sky was so blue, I was soaking it all up... the almost 14 mile ride ends and you are into the final phase of the race the run...I have to admit I didn't run once to practice for this event and I walked most if this, although I did run the last lap in the arena and across the finish line into Ryon's arms and nearly clasped from exhaustion and relief!! I had done it I am proud if my 2 hour 19 minute race and will forever remember this day! Thanks to Paul and John for taking the slack with our kids and I think Paul has some pictures so maybe he could post them so you all can see since seeing is believing!! All in all I have to say it was a pretty big sense of accomplishment and I am glad Ryon talked me into doing this race with him, he did great even beating his time from last year by 2 minutes(2 hr. 2 minutes race)!! He is my biggest cheerleader and helps me accomplish things in life that I never think I can do but he always is there Cheering me on the whole way through it! I couldn't have it any better! Life is good! Now I need to get back into the swing of things since we had the Nacho party right after the race, which was pretty dang fun... and then it was Sunday I took the day of rest to a whole new level yesterday I laid around most of the day trying not to move my achy legs!! Today is my house recovery and the kids last day of work before school starts!!

Little red...

Ryon surprised me with a road bike last week...so I have to say I have caught the marathon bug. I have even signed up for my first  real ride anyone is invited to join it is the 7th of June in Logan. It's called little red riding hood. It's one of the two women only rides in the U.S. so i feel like I am part of something cool not to mention that all the proceeds go to the huntsman research for cancer. I have  to say I never thought I'd ever be doing anything this cool so I have to blog about it.  I will send cool pictures of my new bike soon.

Winter blues!

Well we are still barely alive and have almost surrvied winter here in the wasteland that we call Rexburg, The snow just seems to not melt. The kids have been playing outside even though there is still 2-3 feet of snow they seem to not be bothered by it much! Chanco is getting bigger and Ryon has been teaching him to sit, lay down ,and come they are simple but he is being very receptive to the teachings and loves the doggie treats he gets after doing something right!  I can't believe Easter is on Sunday...we thought about not coloring our eggs at all this year and giving the kids a bit of a challenge in finding the hidden eggs in the snow! We look forward to a visit with you all soon and hope that everything is fine and dandy with you and your lives! Not much to report up here other than we love and miss you all.

BIG THANKS

Thank you to all of you who were at Hannah's baptism physically and in spirit. It was a great weekend for all of our family and we want to thank you for being a part of it. Also thanks for the fun gifts that were not necessary but great. Can't wait to get together again. Family is a great thing! By the way Chancho is going through some serious with drawls...THANKS Celeste!!

To all my peeps

So I have to say that I have the best family EVER! Yesterday we had a little scare, I started Hemrageing so I called Ryon who left work (which happened to be the day of the job fair which he loves by the way) to spend the day with me in the ER and other doctor offices. I called my good friend who without hesitation took the boys. While I waited for Ryon which seemed like an eternity I called Stacie and she made me feel better I was pretty nervous after moms scare last summer... anyway things are fine basically I have tissue left over from my miscarriage 5 weeks ago in the uterus. DR. Allred wanted to wait on doing a D and C because I also have 2 large blood vessels feeding the tissue so doing it might have caused more excessive bleeding which isn't fun or safe either. Instead he gave me a pill that contracts to uterus and should help the left over tissue leave. It hurts like a mother no offense mom. I have to go back on Monday for a blood count and we will go from there. Here comes the shout out Stacie is a lot like Aunt Jean she had the family informed and dinner here that night yummy pizza bombs! Stephen called this morning and they are crazies and bringing in dinner tonight too remember she is having a baby in like 2 hours ok that is a mild exaggeration its more like 2 days!! I have the best family in the whole wide world! Thank you for your concerns, babysitting, prayers, and the yummy yummy food. You guys rock! Thanks.

Our Temple

Here are a few pictures of the Cornerstone Dedication. For more information and pictures check out the Parker blog. The kids all wrote their feelings about that awesome event.

Snow day

This week we have had an incredible amount of snow with lots of yucky wind. Last night they called school off and lots of roads have been closed because of this wind and drifting that we just can't keep up with. The kids and I went out to brave the wind and snow, and try to clear off the driveway and sidewalks...as you can see they had more fun cleaning off the car, and I shoveled while they had fun in the drifts. The kids are always excited about a snow day and it makes my day always a little funner too.

Our new pets!!

Carson has been asking for a dog since our last one, so I finally gave in and we went to the pet store yesterday now we are the proud owner of Hermit crabs!! Not near as cool, cuddly, or best of all as much work as a dog. The kids couldn't be any happier they think they are so cool now that we are pet owners. Today we made our "crab-itat", Ryon dug up some sand from the sand box out back and baked it so it wouldn't freeze them, then Harry and Carson painted some of the extra shells and our coconut hut. Their names are: Carson- Spongebob Fininilini Brewer, and Hannah named hers Crabitha. Pictures are coming soon no worries.

Information bad and good!

Just a quick note to all so I don't have to call and talk to everyone, we lost our baby... Sunday night I started spotting so we went into the Dr. first thing Monday, and found that the baby had no heartbeat. It was only measuring 8 weeks and I am 14 weeks along. I went home from the Dr. office feeling even more overwhelmed. I have to say that I am doing a lot better today and feel fine. We have moved into my parents house and I have lots to do to keep my mind busy. Thank you for all your prayers they were felt. On a happy note, we have decided to have Hannah's baptism in March as scheduled so if you can make it great, if not no worries, it's about the ordinance not the guests(no offense!) and that date is March 1st. Thank you again. lots of love.

Listen to the still small voice!!

The other day I was driving around town running errands franticly with the boys. As we were driving I heard a soft voice from the back seat ask, " mom who will give Sister Norris a Christmas gift?" Sister Norris is Carson's Primary teacher she is a young widow and lives just down the street from us, whenever it snows or any other calamitous thing happens Carson is the first to let me know that we need to clear off the snow from her steps and the other dear sisters that live nearby with out any help. He then said, "We need to have her over for Christmas too." For Family home evening we read the story from the Friend that talks about the family inviting the Elderly lady over for Christmas, we as a family resolved to invite a neighbor over too but not Sister Norris. I am so amazed that he even got anything from that lesson and the fact that he was thinking about her only goes to show that the seasons magic works within the hears of our dear children too.
