After much procrastination, I finally got around to feeding Brooklyn rice cereal and baby food. Of course, Brayden had to be involved. He loves to feed her and she loves to be fed so it all works out. Brayden was very excited to taste Brooklyn's food so I let him try some of the peas. He instantly got a sour face and spit it out. He even made me wipe his tongue off because he didn't want to swallow any of it. I wish I had my camera when he made the face b/c we couldn't stop laughing.

Rub-a-Dub Dub...Two Babes in a Tub!
My mom found a recipe online for bathtub paints. It was very easy to make and Brayden loved it. While he was in the shower painting, I decided to put Brooklyn's tub in there and bathe her at the same time. Of course Brayden had to get in with her. Brooklyn was fascinated with the water everywhere and Brayden had fun having a buddy in the shower with him.
Here is the recipe for the paints:
Add one envelope of unflavored gelatin to 1/4 cup hot water. Stir to dissolve gelatin.
Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes.
Hangin' Out
Last Saturday we went over to Jeff's house to hang out for the evening. We ate, played Rockband, and enjoyed watching all the kids play together. Brayden, of course, had to participate while we played Rockband. Luckily, they had a pretend guitar that kept him busy for the most part.
The last picture is of Crew and Brooklyn. You would never guess they were 3 months apart, since they are the same size.
Our Little Picasso
Brayden got this easel for Christmas but we didn't put it together until last week. We've been using the white board and chalk board on the floor to draw. Brayden loved to draw on the floor, but has loved drawing on the easel a lot more. His favorite is to draw with the markers, but only b/c I keep those out of his reach. It's fun to draw with him and he loves learning. He can count to 10 in Spanish and English, so now we are teaching him what the numbers look like. He learned the shapes easily, but is having a hard time remembering letters. I know, I know.
First Violin Lesson
Last Wednesday night Josh had some meetings after work so I took the kids to my parents house to hang out. My dad had his violin out and Brayden was enthralled when my dad started playing. So my dad let Brayden hold the bow and play the violin a little bit. I was cringing the whole time hoping that Brayden wouldn't all of a sudden try and use the bow as a bat and hit something. But he did great and loved it. Between the piano, violin, and the Rockband drums and guitar, he'll have plenty to choose from when he decides which he wants to learn.

5 Months!
I can't believe Brooklyn is already 5 months old. She is such a joy in our home and we love seeing her grow and develop daily. She sleeps well, is always happy and laughing, and loves to play. She also has started sitting by herself! She's still a little wobbly, but doing great. She is getting close to crawling, so hopefully in another week or two she can start chasing her big brother. We love you Brooklyn!
Sleeping Beauties
On Sunday was Josh's cousin's farewell. She is going to Bangkok! Afterwards, Josh's dad and brother came over and waited for his other brother to get off work so they could pick him up on their way home. Within 20 minutes of getting to our house, all three of them were asleep. Can you tell they're all family?! The picture of Brayden was taken Saturday night. I couldn't help myself sneaking a picture of him just chillin' in his crib.
Brewer Christmas
Since we were all busy with the in-laws this Christmas, we got together with my family on Saturday night. We had pizza for dinner, opened presents, played games, and watched the Jazz game. It was a lot of fun having Celeste and Nate home for Christmas. We missed Sean & Rachelle, and Ryon & Jana's family. We love you guys.
The last 3 pictures were random pics this week. I got a mini trampoline for Christmas, but I haven't been able to jump on it since it is Brayden's favorite toy.
Christmas
Christmas was a lot of fun this year with Brayden being two. Unfortunately, Brayden was up all night with a 103 degree fever. So that wasn't fun. We all slept in until about 9, then opened presents. Although Brayden wasn't feeling well, he still had a lot of fun opening the presents and playing with them. His gift from Santa was a powered truck, but the noise freaks him out so he still hasn't ridden it.
After enjoying the morning together we headed off to Josh's grandma's house for breakfast. Then at 2 we left for my aunt Cindy's house. Brayden fell asleep in the car, so he dropped Brooklyn and me off and stayed in the car so Brayden could sleep an additional 45 minutes. Brooklyn stayed asleep in her car seat for the next 4 hours! We had a yummy turkey dinner at Cindy's and exchanged gifts. Brayden was not feeling well and didn't like being around so many people. So we left and went to Josh's parents house for the evening.
Brayden did much better at the Ericson's without so many people around. He was bouncing off the walls! We opened up more presents there and played all night. We brought all our stuff so we could sleep there, which was good since it was a blizzard outside and we probably wouldn't have made it home. So besides a couple of sick kids, we had a wonderful day!
