Mexico

Well our little family just got back from our vaction to Mexico. We went to Playacar, which is just south of Cancun. My entire family went, 8 adults, and 9 children under the age of 9. It was a little crazy, but SO MUCH FUN!
We stayed in a beautiful resort that was all inclusive. It was awesome having everything included. But as a result I think we all ate way too much food. Thakfully the resort was huge so there was a lot a walking involved so we could burn those calories off!

While we were there we swam in the pool and went to the beach a ton. We also went parasailing, which was great. I have to admit I started freaking out when we got up really high. It was a little scary for me, but Justin loved it.

We also did an excursion with my sibling and spouses, while the grandparents babysat. We took ATV's into the jungle and went ziplining to three different spots. It was my favorite part of the trip. Then we climbed down this dark hole in the ground into a cave. There where stalagtites and stalagmites everywhere and it was full of water, so we went for a swim. The water was really cold, but felt great since it is so hot there.

It was a great vacation and we are so thankful to my parents for taking us all. We created memories that will last forever.

Baby Contest

So for Orem Fest the City put on a baby contest. I have been wanting to enter Paige into some thing like this for a while. ( People are always telling me to, and well you have to admit, she is darn cute!)So I did it. But apparently the judges did not agree with me. There were a lot of kids there. First they got their pictures taken and then the sat infront of the judges for like 30 seconds. Of course Paige just sat there and did not do anything cute. I knew when we walked away from the table that she would not win. And sure enough, no prizes for us. Oh well, we know she is cute and that is good enough for me!!

I guess it is my turn

So I was looking at the Blog the other day and thought, we have not blogged in a while. Later that day I told my wife that we neede to do abetter job and asked her to do it. She replied, "Why cant you do it?" She is right. I have nothing else to do.

I am currently in school. This is my last class for my AS. Then I should have my BS by Next Summer.

I am still employed and grateful for it.

We do have one very exciting item, we are going to Mexico in two weeks. Yea!!!!!! Ali's entire fam is going to Playa del Carmen for 8 days at an all inclusive resort. Hopefully Paige will enjoy the vacation. Thats it for me.

Paige is walking!!!

Over the weekend, Paige started walking. We are so excited! The best part is the smile on Ali's face everytime Paige takes steps. We are so ready for her to be walking.

We hate the swine flu. Reason: Ali's Mom was going to take the whole family to Cancun. We all applied for passports, yes, even Paige. We were going to go June 1st through the 10th. Then the Swine Flu had to ruin everything! I am sure we we still go eventually. It just would have been a perfect time to go. Oh well.

Lastley, we just had new countertops installed. They look awesome. We are very excited that after 2 years of home improvements, all of the big projects are done. Way too many of the small projects are left.

Anyways, hope that everyone is doing well.

I'm One!! Paiges First Birthday

DSC01968.JPGDSC01983.JPGDSC01951.JPGDSC01944.JPGDSC01943.JPGDSC01928.JPG

Well, she is ONE, I can not believe it!! It makes me feel like I'm officially a parent for some reason. I know I have been one for a year, but something about that first birthday party, and knowing I have a one year old, it's crazy!

We had a fun day, Justin came home for lunch and we gave her gifts from us, she got a cute little play kitchen, cloths and some other toys. That afternoon I had my first attempt at making a "Birthday Cake". I made a butterfly cake for everyone at the party to eat and a flower cake for her to dig into! They turned out cute but took way too long to do. (We will see if that happens again.)

That night we had a family party, just presents and the cakes. It was fun to get together and celebrate our adorable little girl. She loved her cake, she started with one finger in it, and ended up squooooshing it between her fingers and smearning it all over her body. It was fun!! Thanks to all those who came and for the presents. (Shantelle, I bought a cute jacket for her with the money!)

The Hospital

DSC01806.JPGDSC01800.JPGDSC01798.JPGDSC01797.JPGDSC01794.JPG

Well for those of you who have not heard, our little family has had quite the week. Last week Paige started getting sick,it seemed just like a bad cold. After a visit to the doctor and some medication we thought things would be ok. But Thursday night she got worse. Paige started having diarehia and was vomiting. She could not keep anything down. By morning she started doing better, and then things would get bad again. After several visits to the doctor, and lots of blood work done, it was determined that she need more help than what we could give.

So we admitted her to the hospital on Sunday for dehydration. She had to get some liguids in her. We thought it would be a short process. Give her an IV wait a coupld hours and come home. Five hours after we arrived she still did not have an IV. They tried over and over and could not get one in her. It was tourture for Justin and I. She would be held done on the bed by 3 or 4 people while they tried to get the IV in. She was screaming the whole time. They tried her arms, her wrist, and her skull (I know, yuck!). After the fifth try in her head we could not take it anymore. We made them stop, and let her (and us) have a break. A couple hours later another nurse (I think it was the sixth one that tried) came in. After two try's and the most sincere prayer I have ever said, they finally got it in. It took a total of 10 attempts.

They put it in her arm and then had to wrap it up straight and tight so the IV would not come out. After that things got better. We all spent the night. Paige slowly became herself again, and soon was trying to crawl around everywhere with only an IV holding her back. About 26 hours after we arrived we came home. Now things are much better. Minus a severe diamper rash Paige is doing fine.

It has been one of the most trying weeks of our lives. But we are so thankful the power of the Priesthood. We know that that is why everything is fine and that our little girl is back home and healthy. We are thankful for the support of our families that helped us through everything. We pray that no one will have to go through something like this. But it sure makes you realize how much you love your kids!!

Hi People!!

DSC01749.JPGDSC01745.JPGDSC01714.JPGDSC01732.JPGDSC01731.JPGDSC01711.JPG

So did you all fall off the planet? Where is everyone?

Things here are good. For those of you don't know Justin's job transfered him to the Salt Lake Office, and we get the feeling he won't be working for manpower much longer. So he is on the look out for a new job. If anyone hears of anything, let us know.

On a happier note, we are going to Texas in a couple weeks, and are excited to catch up with old friends. It will Paige's first plane ride and I am nervous. I am afraid she will be screaming the whole way!!! If anyone has any tips let me know.

Paige is as cute as ever, she just turned 10 months and is starting to become a copy cat. When we chew gum, she makes that motion with her mouth. She claps and waves, any time we do. The other day I was cleaning the kitchen cupboards and she started to rub the cupboards with her hand, like I was doing with the sponge. So I gave her a sponge and she started wiping the cupboards down with me. (Like in the pic above) So Cute! She is still getting into anything she can get her hands on and is finally starting to understand "NO", which helps. She is pure joy in our lives, and I feel so blessed to be her Mom, we love her!

Nine months

Well as you can see from the previous blog Paige is getting into everything. The other day she found the baby cereal and got it open spilling them all over. Then she shoved as many as possible into her mouth!! She is alway crawling into small spaces, and just being too cute. We also discovered that she loves taking baths in the sink, it is a great quick way to clean her up!! She is somuch fun, we love watching her grow and learn every day!!

HELP!!!

DSC01708.JPG

So now that Paige is crawling she is exploring every inch of the house. I was in the other room when she started to scream. I came to see what the problem was, and found her like this. Being the good Mom that I am, I took a picture and let her scream a little longer!!

HELLO? IS ANYONE THERE?

Has nothing happened in your lives? Nothing at all? Please tell me something, anything, so I can go on living happily.

Well, nothing has happened with our fam. See you next time.
